I believe I have googliness. I have confidence and believe in what I do. I help people when they need help. I often find myself losing connections with people because I want to do the right thing and they don't. I strive for excellence, I kind of am a perfectionist. When I am asked to help someone with something I am very focused on what the task is that needs to be done. Being in YAC I find that I often do things for others knowing that I won't get anything in return. Those are the tasks that make you feel good about yourself. I have a great sense of humor, and I know when people need a good laugh so I will come up to them in hall and tell them something funny. Often times I find the funniest stories I tell are about myself, which if it helps their moods I feel accomplished! So I believe I have googliness!

Kennedy's assassination was on the date of November 22. This happened 50 years ago. This was so significant because of how much of a great president Kennedy was. Nellie Connally, "Mr. President, you can't say Dallas doesn't love you," which Kennedy acknowledged. This is so sad that someone can say that and then literally like five minutes following he was shot. I remember sitting in pre-kindergarten and our teacher crying watching TV I never understood why she was so sad up until around 7th grade, I am now in 11th grade. This is similar to the attack on 9/11 because they both just happened no one expected them, not that you do expect something like this. If we had Facebook when this happened it wouldn't only just spread the word of what happened but it would form many opinions of the event. Todays technology might have helped prevent the action of this event to be completed. They might have seen Lee Harvey Oswald in the building window, and in the case of 9/11 they might've seen the planes flying and being a non-US plane also. Write for five minutes minimum in your journal on why you think it is important to thank all Veterans' you come into contact with today, on Veterans' Day and on any day and also why you think it is important to thank their families as well.
I think it is very important to thank all Veterans on Veteran's Day and in fact on any day. Think of the sacrifices they make to let us live freely, they stay for months upon months in a foreign (unsafe) country to fight for our freedom. Some during the service go through many stages of depression being away from their loved ones. And some go through PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) upon returning home from the service, from some of the traumatic things they have to go through and watch, such as shooting down a group of attackers, some people might think "Ah! That'd be fun, shooting down with an AK47!" No, that is an awful thing to say, they suffer for the rest of their lives because they made the decision to shoot that man for freedom to us who some say those things about it being "fun", who might have been a father, a teacher, a good man not deserving of death yet, all those things could be true. |
